Role
The user experience team designs 1&1 Internet AG’s user interface in the field of webhosting, primarily the customer portal “Control Center”, and web and software applications relating to webhosting. Customers and their expectations of a product are at the center of our work. With the aid of detailed analysis of customer requirements, an interactive design process and plenty of space for innovative ideas, we bring products into being which provide customers with a positive user experience and so with the best possible support in their work.
- Analysis of customer requirements using focus groups, customer surveys, logfile analysis and market analysis.
- Working with the product and customer management, product development and support departments to conduct interviews.
- Design and specification of user interfaces (interaction design, interface and information design, graphic design), communicating with the technical development departments.
- Producing guidelines for internal use or for use with business partners.
Requirements
- A degree in interaction design, GUI design, media IT or psychology, and several years of experience in a field related to user experience design (preferably with relation to complex software applications and configuration interfaces), web programming and webhosting.
- Experience in designing and documenting user interfaces.
- Specification of functional and content-related requirements, scribbles, use cases, process and page diagrams; competence in the required software, such as Microsoft Visio or Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience in conducting usability tests, focus groups, surveys and interviews and analyzing the results; experience with logfile analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English (further languages an advantage).
- Knowledge of current trends in user interface design and webhosting.
