Instructional Designer - Halian - Qatar

Halian is actively looking for Instructional Designer who will be working with our partner one of the world’s largest IT Company based Doha, Qatar.

- Liaise between Vendor, SME's and C. A. in determining needs of the course and appropriate method of delivery.
- Design and develop eLearning content with guidance from the Content Authors.
- Design and develop Training support materials as designed by the Content Authors.
- Deliver the training to the Client trainers.
- Update training materials after the delivery and review processes.
- Work with Content Authors, Vendor trainers and SME's to design, create and structure online learning materials.
- Design and write training support materials for TTT and End users.
- Design and create interactive multimedia like video clips or web casts where appropriate.
- Design the interaction to assist with integrating virtual learning environment (VLE) components into Client's web content management system.
- Design and develop an appropriate method for Assessing Client's users' training needs.
- Design and create interactive tests and quizzes.

To be considered for any of the above roles your knowledge and skills MUST include:
- Expert knowledge of web authoring and web development tools.
- Adept knowledge of SCORM and CAPTIVATE.
- Can be able to start immediately.
- Must have awareness of website usability and understands privacy and confidentiality legislation.
- With very good organizational, presentation and creativity skills.
- At least 5 yrs. experience

eLearning Specialist / ICT consultant - AltCity - Lebanon

This position is a freelance consultancy position.
Consultant to be responsible for overall ICT service & support, set-up and maintenance of all internet & intranet pages, including our eLearning platform, plus any other ICT duties essential to the smooth running of the AltCity team's work.

Work Hours: Flexible and part-time. To be discussed and agreed upon with consultant. Preference to someone who will be based at AltCity while doing other freelance/contract work, in order to be on-hand for urgent issues that arise. A custom work-plan and task-based payment schedule will be agreed upon with the selected consultant before work begins.

Main Tasks
- maintain and update AltCity's website (basic front-end, back-end, and server-side) and provide basic Wordpress training for the team to make basic updates and changes to the site
- develop and maintain AltCity's eLearning platform (based on BuddyPress / WordPress)
- develop and maintain an internal audio streaming system via intranet (precise method to be determined)
- set up, monitor, and provide reliable service for the internet network for AltCity
- set up and provide basic problem-solving support for computers for the AltCity team
- provide basic IT support for co-workers on an on-going basis
- participate in other fun/exciting projects that emerge! (on a case-by-case basis)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3/4 years' experience working on technology, office networks, and/or other back-end ICT activities
- proven knowledge and experience of establishing and maintaining WordPress sites
- proven knowledge and experience of establishing and maintaining an eLearning site
- university degree in computer engineering desirable
- ability to communicate in Arabic and English effectively (written & spoken)
- ability to multitask

- ability to meet deadlines
- enthusiastic, dynamic, and reliable
- enthusiasm and knowledge in open source tech (online, offline, hardware)
- a hacker, maker, DIY spirit with a passion for excellence

Period: 2 month initial freelance consultancy contract, to be continued dependent on funding, need, and quality of work.
