The IT Operations Department has an opening for the position of Data Center Supervisor, in grade 12. The Data Center supervisor is responsible for designing, operating, monitoring and maintaining industry-leading, geographically dispersed, Tier-3 and/or Tier4 green Data Operations Centers for AUB and AUBMC.
Requirements
- BE or BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, electro-mechanical or related field.
- Five years experience in computer operations and facilities management.
- Good knowledge of data centers design , building management systems, capacity planning and industry best practices
- Good knowledge of data centers standards compliance and specifications, including but not limited to ASHRAE TC 9.9, EIA/TIA, NFPA, ISO, etc…
- Good maintenance and operating knowledge of data center equipment such as Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, precision air-conditioning units, fire suppression, physical access controls etc.
- Fair knowledge in UNIX, Windows and AS400 servers
- Good knowledge in data communication and networking concepts and technologies
- Good time management skills, attention to detail and ability to create a work product with highly accurate results.
- Excellent knowledge of English and well developed verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work varying hours and shifts including holidays, weekends and on-call 24 hours/day shifts.
