The purpose of this position is to create and maintain systems that link the information supply chains within the business processes of the organization and to manage and implement data-driven web applications effectively and accurately.
Tasks
- Designing, writing, and enhancing software primarily using ColdFusion
- Analyzing, fixing, updating or reworking legacy software
- Monitoring servers and services to ensure they remain online
- Auditing information handled by the applications
- Understanding of technical and functional product requirements.
- Assisting in building database/table design.
- Designing, coding, testing and documenting technical solutions.
- Identifying system deficiencies and recommends solutions if any
- Understanding the necessity of and contributes to coding standards
- Prioritizing multiple tasks effectively
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- A minimum of 3-4 years experience with server side web applications/technologies such as ColdFusion and/or PHP and/or .Net
- A minimum of 3-4 years experience industry standard web applications/technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery
- Extensive knowledge or experience with software development using java technology
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with web applications, and software testing
- Experience with setting up and deploying on web/application servers such as Tomcat or IIS
- Experience with setup and administration of remote systems and web server clusters a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information and volatile data
- Ability to analyze and reverse-engineer legacy code
- Ability to develop specifications through accumulative interaction and prototyping
- Ability to switch amongst and prioritize multiple tasks as required
- Good communication skills in English are essential, in both written and oral form
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multi-national environment
- Understand the importance of documentation and coding standards
