Business Intelligence Software Engineer - AUB - Lebanon

The IT Solutions Delivery has an opening for the position of Business Intelligence Software Engineer, above grade 12. The Business Intelligence (BI) Software Engineer's role is to strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses. This includes selecting, blueprinting, verifying requirements, designing, and implementing BI solutions to end users. The Business Intelligence Software Engineer is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through third level support functions and in-depth testing, in addition to consolidating all BI dashboards and analytical reports into a unified repository with security applied on both data level and dashboard/report level.

Candidate is responsible for the researching, testing, and recommending products while in the planning phase, and driving the execution of the projects built on top of that product while making sure the produced software fits within the overall architecture of the solutions at AUB. Candidates must have knowledge of a variety of BI product suites and scripting languages in addition to Data-warehousing knowledge; this is due to the wide variety of work that they will be involved in. -

Requirements
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering.
- Certifications in development in general and in BI are a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years direct work experience.
- Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
- Experience with tier-one applications, databases, and data warehouses, such as Oracle 9i, MS SQL Server, Crystal, QlikView, and so on.
- Demonstrated ability with MS Windows, UNIX, AIX, and MacOS operating systems.
- Demonstrated ability with ETL tools.
- Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
- Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Full project management and development life cycle experience.
- Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
- Strong understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
- Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
