United Development Company (UDC) are seeking a Senior Web & Projects Officer
The Role
- Work with the Multi-media & Web Services Manager to define objectives for tasked projects.
- Manage a project portfolio comprised of diverse Multimedia & Web projects, as assigned by the Manager.
- Edit the UDC and TPQ Web sites to enhance accuracy of information with visitors to those sites;
- Maintain the UDC/TPQ official web sites and update them as directed by the Manager.
- Keep abreast of technological advancements that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the UDC/TPQ sites, recommend appropriate ones to UDC appropriate authority and ICT department.
- Ensure that best practices of web content management technologies and concept are used to implement the websites.
- Participate in the ongoing evaluation and evolution of the look, feel and scope of the UDC / TPQ corporate website.
- Ensure that the website is user friendly from the navigation and information flow perspective
- Ensure that the website is working as expected on different browsers
- Provide the manager with regular report regarding the websites usage and statistics.
- Plan and ensure business continuity and disaster recovery implementation to minimize the down time of the web servers
- Handle the web servers activity and all related services ( server updates, antivirus updates , IIS updates , service packs, security updates, backup/recovery …)
- Handle the hosting panel to manage all the domain name and administration configuration in this regards
- Check for any requested domain names and do the necessary procedure to reserve and buy them
- Handle correspondence related to technical aspect of web project such as hosting inquiries, hosting updates, hosting bills, etc.
- Provide technical support and assistance to the ICT department as required
- Do R&D where ever and when ever required to enhance the departmental performance
- Train and/or assist the required personnel in use of software solutions and guide them in taking the right decision in selecting the right web tools
- Manage the user requests on the websites (inquiries, feedback...) and answer e-mails directed to the webmaster / web administrator in request for information and promotional media collateral
- Coordinate closely with the ICT GM and staff on all technical issues related to the website hosting and architecture.
- Work with legal counsel on revisions to any legal policies, contracts or disclaimers as appropriate.
- Prepare and submit reports to the manager.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant business analysis and project planning experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in web development field
- Experience in Project Delivery and Business Solutions preferred
- Thorough understanding of project delivery processes,
- Proficiency with project management tools
- Good working knowledge of developing comprehensive and effective project plans
- Ability to estimate and meet deadlines through proper planning and priority of work
- Ability to translate business and user requirement into technical specifications
- Ability to multi-task and manage global projects is essential
- General IT literacy and R&D competency
- Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in general automation to improve the internal processes
- Technical writing experience
- Strong communications, problem solving, presentation and reasoning skills
- Flexible, self-motivated, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines and perform consistently under pressure
- Excellent project and time management skills
- Ability to establish priorities during solution development life cycle.
- Follow a work methodology
- Knowledge and Ability to perform testing methodology such as unit testing, functional testing, stress load testing, integration testing.
- Fluent in site management skills, development skills, and authoring skills in order to have high quality web pages.
- Dynamic and self motivated.
- Ability to work in a team and on his/her initiatives
- Fluent in Arabic and English language
- Have some skills in image editing to update any icon or image related to the website.
