The purpose of this position is to create and maintain systems that link the information supply chains within the business processes of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Designing, writing, and enhancing software primarily using Java Technology
- Analyzing, fixing, updating or reworking legacy software
- Monitoring servers and services to ensure they remain online
- Auditing information handled by the applications
Requirements
The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education and prior related work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in information systems or equivalent field
- At least two three of experience with software development using java technology
- Experience with Java programming, Linux and SQL
- Acquaintance with web applications, socket programming and software testing
- Experience with setting up and deploying on web/application servers such as Tomcat or IIS
- Experience with ColdFusion programming and front-end scripting a plus
- Experience with setup and administration of remote systems and web server clusters a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information and volatile data
- Ability to analyze and reverse-engineer legacy code
- Ability to develop specifications through accumulative interaction and prototyping
- Ability to switch among and prioritize multiple tasks as required
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multi-national environment
