Job Purpose
The Implementation Engineer responsibilities consist of planning and implementing Network and Advanced IT Infrastructure solutions that requires integration of a proliferation of technologies. The Implementation Engineer responsibility is to execute work as per obtained design and ensure assigned resources from Subject Matter Experts (SME) work in tandem in order to complete implementation within required timeframe. Furthermore, the Implementation Engineer will often have to troubleshoot and resolve configuration problems during implementation and testing.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring that client’s infrastructure performance are maintained at acceptable levels before, during and after implementation
- Good knowledge of network architecture and topology along with knowledge of network devices diagnostics and configuration such as hubs, switches and routers
- Solid understanding of:
- IT principles and concepts (e.g. scalability, security, redundancy,…)
- TCP/IP and networking protocols
- Networking switches, routers, firewalls and load balancing technologies
- High availability and failover architecture and clustering technologies
- Servers, Operating Systems and Software configurations
- Data storage, migration, replication, backup and recovery
- In-depth knowledge and experience in all aspects of information Technology Work Processes:
- IT Infrastructure Operations Experience
- IT Infrastructure Design/Development/Configuration Experience
- IT Infrastructure Development, Configuration and Implementation Methodologies
- IT Work Process Design Concepts/Models
- Well versed with infrastructure implementation Life Cycle and having clear understanding of the current infrastructure technologies
- Providing effective resolutions to operating system problems utilizing industry best practices
- Analysis and implementation of enhancements, performance efficiencies and improvements
- Assessing possible risks and supervising the installation of chosen design methodology
- Ensuring the solution is reliable, scalable, easy to maintain, robust and compliant with the client’s technology standards
- Identifying any gaps and selecting the appropriate tools and products to facilitate the implementation and integration of the solution architecture.
- Producing complete documentation after auditing the installation made
- Assuring quality workmanship is performed by utilizing industry best practices (Microsoft Solution Framework) and following the industry standards and ITIL guidelines on change management
- Participating in efforts to define and implement proactive fault detection and capacity monitoring systems.
- Performing configuration reviews to assure problems are quickly and accurately detected through proper testing and maintenance
- Providing operational guidance and support on applicable hardware and software solutions
- Preparing site (power, circuit provisioning, and racking), and coordinating equipment delivery to the site
- Planning and coordinating with Design and Installation teams and Project Management Office to assign resources (SMEs) and schedule implementation after obtaining customers approvals on Change Requests (RFC) and planned shutdown (RFD)
Dynamics
- Working closely with Solution Architecture and Design team to obtain design configurations
- Performing testing and troubleshooting configuration problems and address customer complaints
Skills / Attributes
- BS in Computer Science or Information Systems, OR BE in Computer and Communication Engineering
- 3 to 5 years IT experience
- Certification should include some or all of the following:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
Sun Solaris Entry Level
- Ability to connect with multiple personality types
- Good communication skills (English/Arabic)
- Conceptual, analytical and logical thinking
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/situations simultaneously & handle stressful situations
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple medium sized projects
- Ability to understand and deliver high quality customer service
- Advanced TCP/IP and internetworking protocol knowledge
- Experience in IT operations and an actively contributing team member in project based work

Professional Certifications Required and Soft Training
Required to be a Implementation Engineer – Grade 1:
- or VERITAS Certified Professional (VCP)
- or SUN Solaris Mid Level
- or HP AIS (Accredited Integration Specialist)
Required to be a Implementation Engineer – Grade 2:
- CCNP, or CCSP, or CCVP
- or Microsoft Specializations (MOM, Exchange, ISA...)
- or HP Specialist (HP Storage, Tape Library, Blades, HP OpenView)
Required to be a Implementation Engineer – Grade 3:
- ITIL Service Management (ITSM)
