Software and Services Group (SSG) is creating software for Android. This position is for a software quality assurance (SQA) engineer.
To be successful, you must have strong technical knowledge and the ability to deliver results. In this role you must demonstrate a high level of initiative and the ability to take on complex assignments and complete them independently. You must demonstrate the flexibility to contribute to multiple areas in a global organization and have the ability to work with team members from different backgrounds and cultures. The ideal candidate must be motivated to consistently deliver to commitments, and have the ability work across multiple technical areas to develop and execute test cases and root cause, track, and help resolve defects in a complex software stack.
Other duties include: Developing, documenting, and implementing test plans, scenarios and test cases for a Linux-based operating system, establishing processes and standards for project validation and release, developing and establishing processes for defect management and release criteria, interacting with key stakeholders to establish and enforce processes for repeatedly delivering excellent results.
Skills
- BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, MS degree preferred.
- Quality assurance for software products, preferably in the mobile device area
- Quality assurance for software built using Linux / Open Source and familiarity with Open Source development methodologies
- Strong knowledge of C / C++ and common scripting languages such as shell script and Python
- Experience in one or more key technology areas, including Intel Architecture hardware support, device driver development, graphics, security, power management, media, communications (WiFi, WiMAX, Bluetooth, telephony), Qt application development
- Developing SQA Automation tools and test frameworks
- User experience / UI test and validation
