Project Manager - LAU - Lebanon

The IT Department has a vacancy for a Project Manager who will be reporting to the Director of IT Applications and Solutions. The Project Manager is mainly responsible for ensuring the successful planning and execution of IT projects. He/she manages work plans and coordinates activities to ensure quality and meet timetables.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans and executes assigned IT projects.
- Revises and updates project plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Reports to the Director of IT Applications & Solutions the status of all assigned projects.
- Maintains, upgrades and provides support for selected University-wide ERP systems.
- Actively participates in the Business Process Reengineering initiatives of the University and provides and facilitates technology solutions to these initiatives.
- Identifies resources needed and assigns responsibilities.
- Technically manages the staff assigned on a certain project task.
- Identifies and minimizes risks across projects (risk to fail a project).
- Coordinates activities to ensure quality and meet timetables.
- Reviews deliverables (programs, modules, etc…).
- Ensures that project documentations are complete, up-to-date, and stored appropriately.
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned.

Education and Experience
- B.E., B.A. or B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years experience (2+ years in managing complex IT projects; 6+ years in Software Development)

Special Skills & Trainings
- Experience in Higher Education and/or OLIB, Blackboard is a plus
- Knowledge of Unix/NT, Client/Server, RDBMS and Web Applications environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to prioritize jobs
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Good English oral and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to work with diverse teams
