The Director of Technology is responsible for the development and delivery of e-Services and information technology in support of WLC global operations as well as assisting in the development of information technology products, specifically GLS, for the company.
The Director Technology will provide leadership and guidance for the development team and is responsible for the performance results of both internal IT as well as any 3rd parties in the development of the e-Services technology.
The Director of Technology has the responsibility is to ensure that the goals of the Company are achieved in a cost efficient and effective manner relative to Company IT, while assuring system performance and end-user satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and organization leadership for the development, maintenance and continuous enhancement of IT systems and operations for the Company.
- Assure world class e-Service products and services that facilitate Company communications, global connectivity, video and other presentation capabilities necessary to meet the requirements of WLC for global and community outreach in support of its mission.
- Manage the WLC IT development staff, including evaluation of performance, coaching, mentoring and developing new skills that help the staff as well as the Company maintain innovation and global recognition for excellence.
- Assure WLC business solutions are 'fit for purpose' and meet or exceed technical and commercial standards for the industry.
- Assure WLC development and maintenance practices and procedures conform to designated business Application / Enterprise Architectures, standards, methods and best practices.
- Assure best practices in risk management and compliance requirements for the development, deployment and operations of the WLC systems.
- Manage and promote relationships with key stakeholders, including WLC regional offices, WLCD, suppliers and internal company organizations, assuring their satisfaction with WLC IT services performance and systems functionality.
- Remain current with technology advancement, and provide technology thought leadership aimed at the continuous improvement of WLC products and for Company consumption.
- Build a culture of high performance, professionalism, business co-operation, continuous improvement and product excellence.
- Create, maintain and meet budget requirements for all systems development programs and maintenance activities.
- Assure effective change management where necessary for systems deployment, upgrades and general changes based on end user requirements.
- Deliver required reporting on staffing, project status, user satisfaction and budget, including establishing the metrics, systems and processes by which performance and results are measured and captured.
- Provide recommendations to WLC executive management where necessary based on management requests, end user demand and in all matters of risk avoidance.
Skills
- B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology. MBA or other relevant advanced degree is also preferred.
- Minimum 8 years experience with proven track record in the management of technology development, deployment and maintenance.
- Proven service management experience in client-focused operations of IT in multi-location global environment, including help desk, online help and desk side services.
- Thorough knowledge of e-Services and emerging technologies for use in corporate communications, global marketing, business development, and business process management (BPM).
- A deep understanding of advanced user and systems interface development and deployment supporting an extensive user base and a global mobility application suite, including the use of smart devices, tablets and other digital media.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art technology development tools and processes in Open Source and web-based environments.
- Previous development and deployment of business applications in support of enterprise processes including content management, HR and CRM.
- Professional application of ISO standards for quality measurement, quality audit and quality improvement.
- Extensive use of risk management processes, tools and procedures, including compliance with industry standards and national and international regulations.
- Professional IT staff management and development experience.
- Budget forecasting and management.
