Based at our headquarters in Dubai, an exciting and challenging opportunity exists for a Web Developer to develop and implement websites and online applications for the organisation by analysing current problems/issues and identifying the best development solution. This position is suited for highly organised candidates who have skills that go beyond basic web development, with much of the work requiring dynamic database-driven site creation and maintenance.
This individual will also be involved in the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Communications team. This would involve maintaining and promoting the Legatum Group’s activities through our social media presences, purchasing internet domain names and providing solution support for other departments within the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the management and maintenance of the Legatum Group’s online presence:
Develop new online technology
Expand and enhance the online Content Management System
Maintain and update the website copy
- Develop various web applications as required by the group
- Develop, maintain and extend the corporate intranet (Microsoft Sharepoint)
- Assist with domain name negotiation and acquisition
- Website and application administration (web analytics, database back-ups and SEO)
- Provide programming, research and technical assistance to the IT department and other departments as needed
- Content creation on the corporate social media presences
- Project Management
- Provide training and support to end-users for various online applications when required
Requirements
- Programming:
Excellent knowledge of ASP.NET (VB.NET or C#)
Proficiency in XHTML, CSS, XML/XSL and Javascript, JQuery
Microsoft Sharepoint 2010/2013 experience is an advantage
Ability to work with and troubleshoot the quirks of the various internet browsers
Comprehensive understanding of the standard Software Development Lifecycle and various development methodologies
- Relational Databases
Excellent knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and upwards.
Proficiency in T-SQL.
Clear understanding of database access methods, normalisation techniques and administration functions.
- Project execution
Understanding of project and development plans and an ability to clearly articulate roles, project goals, and timelines
Adherence to predefined coding standards
Able to establish responsible deadlines and personal work plans
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and deliver desired results
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Integrity, a desire to learn, enthusiasm, humility and diligence.
- Native English speaker (no other language is required)
- Appropriate technical certificate / degree from an accredited institution
- Advantageous to have a Microsoft Certified Qualification
- Minimum of four years in website, application and database development
- Project management experience
- Experience in mobile device development an advantage
