myTV are looking to hire a Systems Engineer with a minimum of 3 years experience in Microsoft Products.
- Ensuring that the computer systems are working optimally
- Ensuring that the hardware and software used by the company are compatible
- Ensuring that the company systems are safe and secure from outside attacks
- Updating the systems regularly
- Ensuring that the network connections to the systems are up and functioning
- Performing functional analysis and testing the computer applications
- Oversees all transitions into production
- Develop and complete actions in system specifications, technical and logistical requirements and other disciplines
- Create and maintain technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution
- Manage system configurations
- Monitor the developments in the field of computer technology and find suitable infrastructure for company
- Evaluate and install software, hardware and other applications
- Provide custom support and service
- Executes day to day maintenance tasks including problem determination and resolution, as well as root-cause analysis. -Responsible for responding to live site issues and for executing software, platform, and configuration changes
- Coordinate in order to provide and maintain documentation of systems architecture, troubleshooting and support guidelines,
- Ensures the use of performance data for optimizations, new implementations, and improve functionality
- Participates in the continual refinement of processes and policies to ensure the highest possible performance and availability of our systems
- Provides inputs and ideas to support long term product and technology planning
- Proactively identifies potential project and technical issues and takes actions to mitigate these issues
- Develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Systems and Network Engineering
- 2 or more years of experience designing and/or deploying Internet-based products or services
- Detailed knowledge of hardware technologies and systems support – administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, security, and general maintenance of Intel platforms
- Detailed knowledge of core Internet protocols (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTP/S, SSH) required
- Experience with IP communication, packet structure, load balancing equipment, and troubleshooting required
- 3-4+ years Windows systems & domain administration with Windows 2008 or later.
- Experience administering an Active Directory environment, with extensive knowledge of group policy.
- Strong understanding of Internet/IP related technologies including, but not limited to, DNS, SMTP, HTTP/S, IP sub-netting.
- Have a working knowledge of networking technologies such as TCP/UDP port requirements,
- Strong trouble-shooting ability. Ability to identify and resolve problems in “down" situations.
- Experience with scripting in a Windows environment (e.g. PowerShell and VBScript).
- Experience with administering Exchange 2010/2007 environments.
- Network administration experience (layer-2 switching and firewalling).
- Backup and backup related technology experience
- Experience with database technologies such as MS SQL Clustering,
- MS windows server standard and enterprise, 2008
- MS Certifications a plus (some may be required)
