ICT Training Manager - World Learning - Lebanon

World Learning seeks an ICT Training Manager, Beirut-based, for a USAID-funded education project in Lebanon.
Recruitment contingent upon successful award of the project. Thise position will be reserved for Lebanese nationals or residents of Lebanon.
This position will support a project aimed at training English teachers, developing extra-curricular activities, providing schools with ICT equipment and training, and school leadership development in order to enhance student achievement in public schools.


Responsible for ICT implementation and integration training in all project schools throughout Lebanon. Specific responsibilities include: technical leadership for ICT Action Plan (in collaboration with government stakeholders); technical specifications for procurement of ICT equipment; management of ICT equipment installation in schools; training for relevant stakeholders on integrating, managing, and maintaining ICT hardware, software, internet, networking, and security in schools;. The ICT Specialist will work as a member of a project management team to integrate technology across all components of the project.
- Work with Procurement Manager to provide technical input to purchasing and bidding for IT hardware and software
- Orient school leadership to standard systems: Provide face-to-face orientation and follow up training for school staff on ICT hardware, software, and network installation, and maintenance orientation to school leadership in all project schools. Provide online materials for support and orientation of all other users. As an ICT representative, ensures that standards, purchasing policies, copyright and other corporate policies relative to information technology are understood and followed.
- Develop technical documentation and Train school staff to manage education technology resources: Establish clear ICT inventory and maintenance policies and protocols to be used and adapted by schools – including ICT inventory, policy notebook, schedules, some internal web pages, documentation, email, and installation and updating of software on PCs, conduct preventive maintenance and proactive support around the areas of laptop support, networking, and Anti Virus support.
- Technical management and leadership to integrate relevant ICT into classroom instruction for teachers and school leadership - include overseeing curriculum development, training plans, training implementation, and sustainability action plan in coordination with other relevant project technical staff
- Provide proactive technology in education knowledge to team members as part of overall project planning
- Technical guidance and support on blended learning and sustainable and affordable instructional technology configurations

Requirements
- Bachelor’s in education, information technology or in related field or equivalent experience, master’s degree preferred, A+ certification or equivalent
- At least 5-7+years experience in a comparable job
- Strong experience and leadership role in projects that work directly in computing, communications and technology in education, experience with USAID or other international donor funded project preferred
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook), Windows XP and Windows 7 operating system. Experience with Windows 2003/2008 domain schema, and Symantec Antivirus. Knowledge and experience with open source systems and software strongly desired.
- Strong knowledge of education digital content and applications and how to roll out this content throughout school networks; experience with learner and content management systems for school and classroom based data management preferred but not required
- Demonstrated training experience for end-user instruction for selected computer application software, blended learning platforms, and social media networks relevant to classroom environments
- Experience with PC management, installation maintenance and integration with network services.
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
- The ability to work calmly and enthusiastically in a trouble call response mode with a heavy workload and a large user base.
- Experience as classroom teacher preferred
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Ability to travel throughout Lebanon
