Information Technology Officer - ESCWA - Lebanon
The Information Technology Officer will be responsible for carrying out the following:
- Undertake research and prepare studies and parts thereof;
- Participate in the organization of expert group meetings and workshops in the Division’s substantive activities;
- Perform regional/sub-regional analysis in the area of ICT and knowledge management for sustainable development, particularly for achieving the Millennium Development Goals;
- Advocate appropriate ICT and knowledge management policies, strategies and implementation plans for building the information society and knowledge-based economy;
- Promote regional integration and cooperation in the development of an ICT sector at the national and regional levels;
- Contribute to networking of information society stakeholders and collaboration with regional/international organizations;
- Prepare field project proposals in line with ESCWA’s sub-programme related to ICT for regional integration;
- Follow-up on the implementation of ICT field projects and secure partner collaboration and support;
- Prepare documents and other communications such as reports, letters, proposals, web site content, and speeches;
- Recommend directions and participate in the formulation of the Division’s work programmes and plans;
- Assess and plan for human resource requirements;
- Provide technical assistance to member States and other organizations;
- Conduct training;
- Represent ESCWA in substantive meetings and related activities in member States and in various regional and international ICT forums;
- Take part in, and wherever required lead, missions as a senior expert; perform other related duties as required, including administrative tasks necessary to deliver the teams services.

A first-level university degree with a combination of relevant academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible professional experience is required, including good understanding of ICT’s strategic direction, and ability to transform it into a result-oriented work programme. Experience in projects or activities related to information and communication technology for development. Experience in the context of a developing country is an advantage.
- English and French are the two working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Arabic is also a working language of ESCWA. For this post, fluency in written and oral English and Arabic is required.

Lead Developer – Marketing and Product Development – Toronto
Achilles Media is on the hunt for someone who is passionate about web and mobile development. As the Lead Developer, you will have 5+ year of development experience in a team environment and be proficient working with an array of languages, tools and methodologies.

The Lead Developer will work within the Product Development and Marketing Teams to lead the design, and build our event sites and supporting applications. The Data Center Design and Engineering Consultant will be responsible for the design, assessment, construction management and supervision of the Data Center site infrastructure systems; architectural/structural, electrical, mechanical, data/telecommunication, fire protection, security, and building management systems (BMS). The position requires firm knowledge of best practices and engineering principles for the design, construction and operation of telecom facilities, computer rooms and data centers.
